Our best destination wedding ever!
Without a doubt. We loved everything about it. The location (obviously :)), the weather, the LIGHT!!!! , vibrant, modern venue and last but not least; beautiful couple not bound to tradition. The combination of all above made Courtney & Emma’s Brisbane destination wedding something out of the ordinary. The day was truly exceptional, a photographer’s dream!
The couple loved our suggestion of the “first look” shoot before the ceremony due to the later afternoon timing of the ceremony, and also to allow them to spend more time mingling with the guests immediately after.
Absolutely delighted! The photos are wonderful and all capture such great memories perfectly. We love the modern, relaxed and natural feel to the photos. Younger Photography helped us shape the order of the wedding day to get the most out of the photos in terms of lighting and timings, but also so we could maximise time with family and friends. We aren’t necessarily people who enjoy getting our photo taken together, but they made us both feel completely at ease all day. And all our family and friends loved them both too.
We really enjoyed meeting and chatting with Andrew and Agnieszka from Younger Photography. They had a relaxed approach but were clearly very knowledgeable. They have won various awards and we loved the modern style of photos that they were able to share.
We asked Emma & Courtney about their fondest memory of their destination wedding.
The couple wrote our own vows for the wedding ceremony. It was a great opportunity to share some personal feelings and qualities that they love about each other with close friends and family. Emma’s uncle was also the celebrant which added a personal and relaxing twist. Also two close friends of the couple wrote their own personal readings and read them during the ceremony. We managed to capture some great emotional shots of parents and guests during the ceremony!
This fabulous destination wedding took place at the Howard Smith Wharves, Brisbane, Australia in October.
Emma & Courtney met in Brisbane and many of their friends and family are based there and in the surrounding area. They loved the urban and modern feel of the venue and also its picturesque location on the Brisbane River and underneath the majestic looking Story Bridge.
The Dress Emma bought her stunning dress from Tilly Trotters Bridal in Leamington Spa. The shop provided the best experience and she said yes to the dress on her first visit. She fallen in love with Vagabond Sedona gown which made her feel really special. She loved the fact that her dress wasn’t very traditional, and she really suited it. Emma, you looked absolutely amazing on the day! Courtney and the groomsmen wore a Blue Linen Suits from Percival Menswear. They all really liked the lightweight and relaxed fit of the suit.
For the bride and bridesmaids bouquets and groomsmen boutonnières Emma chose stunning Australian native flowers with lots of bright striking colours. The couple worked with Borrowed Events for their styling and florals and couldn’t recommend Gemma enough.
Andrew & I absolutely loved lots of very special and personal touches of this Australian destination wedding. A close friend of Emma & Courtney, and amazing artist, Lydia Reed, designed all of the save the dates, wedding invitations and table plan. “It was great to have a good friend show off her creative skills!” said Emma.
After the wedding feast and emotional speeches, it was time for the first dance song Sister Sledge – Thinking of You (more the Paul Weller acoustic version). A great song with a bit of first dance cheese:)
Courtney & Emma, thank you for choosing and trusting Younger photography, for your amazing review and kind words. We can not wait to start designing your wedding books soon!
